AUV X-3A has the mode of automatic following along of undersea pipelines. It is based on AC-generator and magneto sensors placed in AUV.

AC-generator induces the AC currents in the pipeline (also in buried one) and magneto sensors control the pipeline direction. This mode does need the operator involvement.
